As a corporate trustee, I developed a unique insight into drafting estate plans.
A Corporate Trustee is someone that manages an estate that is with a company that has more than $100,000,000 in assets.
After having been an estate planning attorney for over a decade, this gave me a unique insight into creating an estate plan for the average person.
The most interesting thing was that most of our trusts were not funded. Despite the expense and time, people would pay 10s of thousands of dollars for an estate plan, they wouldn’t take the extra step of funding their estate plan, which meant that their assets still went through probate.
That is why I created STL Estate Plans. I wanted to help people not only create an estate plan, but I wanted to ensure they were funded.
After drafting estate plans for a decade, it floored me that most are unfunded and go through probate. I aim to change this.
